What is Dynamons?

Dynamons is a monster-collecting RPG-style video game series in the style of the classic Pokémon games. In this game, players can take on the role of a Dynamon Captain, an adventurer who looks for and catches wild creatures called Dynamons.

Once you’ve caught a Dynamon, you can befriend and train it. Create a strong team of pocket monsters to defeat other trainers and bosses. Moving from point to point on the map, you can discover new Dynamons, encounter new characters, and unlock new parts of the story.

How to play Dynamons games?

The Dynamons games usually follow a set pattern. At the start of the game, you can choose one of three “Starter” Dynamons. Then, you can start exploring the map of your surroundings. At first, the map only shows a short path with few nodes.

By completing battles against other trainers and bosses who block the path, you can unlock more of the map and venture further into the Dynamons world.

How to Catch wild Dynamons?

Wild Dynamons will appear frequently on the map. Head to a node where you see a Dynamon alert. You can catch wild Dynamons by using a special device that looks like a floppy disc. You’ll find a few in your backpack, and you can win more of these discs by battling other trainers.

However, be careful not to use your most powerful attacks if a wild Dynamon’s health is getting low. If it runs out of strength completely, it will run away and escape.

How to Train Dynamons?

Once you’ve caught a Dynamon, you can add it to your team. Your Dynamons can earn experience points by participating in battles. Collect experience points to increase a Dynamon’s strength and unlock more powerful attacks.

How to Evolve Dynamons?

Many (though not all) Dynamons can evolve. Dynamons evolve when they reach a certain strength level. The level needed to evolve differs per Dynamon. Train them by fighting battles and collect EXP to unlock even the most powerful evolutions.

At the end of each battle, the EXP earned will be added to your Dynamon’s EXP bar. When this bar is full, you can use magic shards to level up.

  • Tip: When a Dynamon faints in battle, it will not gain any EXP! So make sure to swap them out when their health is low.

How do Dynamon Battles work?

Dynamon battles are turn-based. When it’s your turn, you can tap one of your Dynamon’s available battle cards to select an attack, or a defensive move. You can also unlock moves that increase your strength (buff) or weaken an enemy to make them more vulnerable to your next attack (debuff).

Each Dynamon has unique skills, and you can unlock more of them by levelling up. At first, you’ll only have a handful of generic attacks, but the more powerful attacks you can unlock by making your Dynamon stronger are often more specific to your Dynamon’s type.

Dynamon Battle Strategy: Elemental Type

Pay close attention to the type of each Dynamon you encounter. There are currently eight known Dynamon types.

  • Plant
  • Water
  • Fire
  • Electric
  • Dark
  • Diamond
  • Gold
  • Spirit

Dynamon Battle Strategy: Strength Charts

Each Dynamon is vulnerable to certain types of attacks, and strong against others. The match-up of elements determines how effective each move is.

Below, you’ll find the complete strength chart featuring all available types of Dynamons. Even if you are playing the earlier games with only three or five elements, the same strength chart still applies.

(Read the chart from left to right. For example: Fire types are weak against Water types, but strong against Plant types. No special effect applies when one Fire Dynamon fights another Fire type.)

Dynamons Strength Chart
 FireWater  Plant  ElectricDarkDiamondGoldSpirit
Fire  Normal   Weak Strong Strong  Weak  Weak Strong Normal
Water Strong  Normal   Weak  Weak Strong Strong  Weak Strong
Plant  Weak Strong Normal  Strong  Weak  Weak Strong  Weak
Electric  Weak Strong  Weak Normal Strong Strong Normal  Weak
Dark Strong  Weak Strong  Weak Normal Normal  Weak Strong
Diamond Strong  Weak Strong  Weak Normal Normal  Weak  Weak
Gold  Weak Strong  Weak Normal Strong Strong Normal  Weak
Spirit Normal   Weak Strong Strong  Weak Strong Strong Normal

Each Dynamon also possesses “Normal” type attacks. These moves can be learned by any type of Dynamon, and they aren’t more or less effective against any particular type.

Dynamons Strategy Tips

Here are some more strategy tips to help you win even the toughest Dynamon battles and boss fights:

  • Collect a diverse team: You’ll never know which Dynamons you might encounter in battle. Make sure you collect a diverse team including all the different types. That way, you can make the best of each type’s strengths, regardless of the team of Dynamons you are facing in battle.
  • Keep your team balanced: A common mistake is to mainly use your starter Dynamon to win battles. This means your Starter will collect far more EXP than the rest of your team, resulting in an unbalanced strength set. Keep at least three (but preferably more) element types at a high level, allowing you to be flexible in any surprise encounter.
  • Boost your chances of catching Dynamons: In this monster-catching game - just like in most others - your chances of catching a wild Dynamon are much higher when its health is low. Battle the Dynamon to turn its health bar red before using your discs to catch it, otherwise your discs will likely be wasted. (If the Dynamon breaks your disc open and escapes, that disc is damaged and can’t be used again.)
  • Level up before facing bosses: To unlock the next part of the path or story, you will have to defeat a number of bosses. You can’t skip the trainers guarding the path! If you get stuck on a boss level, retreat down the path to “grind” earlier levels and collect EXP for your main team.

Dynamon Browser Games and the Dynamons World App

Dynamon’s is a classic “Hero’s Journey” story that started out as a Flash web game in 2015. Following the launch of the web games Dynamons 1 and 2, the mobile app Dynamons World was launched for iOS and Android. You can find Dynamons World in the Play Store and in the Apple Store.

Since then, many more sequels have been released as web games. You can find and play all of the available web games on this page of our website.

What are the differences between Dynamons World and the Dynamons Web Games

Dynamons World features a long narrative and several multiplayer and paid features not present in the web version, such as PvP battles, leaderboards, and special app-only items you can purchase with money. Most of the story mode can be played offline, but the game needs to be downloaded and requires storage.

The Dynamons web games are solo adventures based on the same RPG story. Instead of one large game, the chapters of the story are broken up into the different web game sequels after they are released in the mobile app. These Dynamons games don’t require any downloads, all you need is an active internet connection.

The web games are made for instant casual play. You start each adventure fresh, with a new set of starters to build up a new team. In each sequel, the player meets the Dynamon expert Professor Jovani, who gives you a brief refresher on the basics of Dynamon battles.

Dynamons Spin-Off Games

In addition to all of the Dynamons web game chapters, we also have a unique web-only spin off game, Dynamons Connect. This fun tile-connecting puzzle game features tiles based on the complete Dynadex from Dynamons World and lots of unique background art featuring your favorite pocket monsters.

In the past, there was also another Dynamons spin-off game called Dynamons Evolution - a puzzle adventure featuring the pocket monsters from the original series. Unfortunately, this game is no longer available online.
